THE ART and CRAFT of SCREEN ACTING

MFA ACTING PROGRAM - 5 DAYS

A 5-day immersive experience in the theory and practice of acting on film. Two instructors allowed for 'breakout groups' and 'shooting groups' to alternate. Beginning with original short exercises and scenes, then moving to fully shot scenes from films, actors are immersed in a process of exploration and telling stories in this visual medium.

MFA ACTING PROGRAM - 3 DAYS

A 3-day introduction to the world of acting on-screen. Days 1 and 2 focused on basic principles of film acting. Utilizing a process-oriented approach to exploring on-camera, students were guided to a deeper understanding of the medium and the actor’s role in this collaborative art form. Day 3 culminated with an “On-Camera Audition” workshop.

BFA ACTING PROGRAM

An on-going series of visits over several months. Students learned the basics of visual storytelling and the actor’s role in the process experientially: through a guided creation of a series of devised short films.  Click HERE and HERE to view samples of student-created work (devised and shot in 1 hour!) from some of our recent workshops.

UNDERGRADUATE THEATRE PROGRAM

A 3-hour “interactive” Lecture. Utilizing film clips, short recorded exercises, and analysis, we led participants to a deeper understanding of an adjacent medium.
